A friend of mine is looking for a good load idea for his .308. He asked if I could post this and gets some ideas where to start at.

I use 200 primer 47grains 4064 and 150 gr spitzer sierra boat tail. It is a very compressed load but shoots great. I killed my 604 pound black bear with it no problem. I shoot a m77 manlicker style.

I generally load 165 gr Hornady flat base interlocks in front of 45 gr of varget and a cci benchrest primer.Accuracy has always been good and I've never had to track any of the of deer I've shot with this load. This year I tinkered around and loaded some 150 gr Nosler accubonds in front of 46 gr of varget.Accuracy was good and the deer that I killed with this load folded in it's tracks. One kill doesn't tell the whole story though.
