has anyone ever used Gold TIP Laser ll's out of a Horton xbow?
i have a brand new dozen that i bought when i got the excal xbow that i sold awhile back, been thinking of trying them with my 07 Horton Hunter but am unsure how they will shoot compared to my factory arrows.
are they ok to shoot weight wise, will they hurt my limbs?
or would i be better off to sell them and just get some factory Horton arrows that are like the ones that came with my xbow?
any input would be greatly appreciated as am wanting to get things ready for archery season.

alot of my concern comes from when i hold one of the Horton shafts and one of the the Gold Tips, hands down the Gold Tips seem to be considerably heavier bolts then the Hortons are and i haven't even put the front or rear inserts in them yet

Heavier is normally better to use thAn alighter arrow/bolt.
More load is always much safer thAn a lighter load on the system.
If you have concerns, call, e-mail Horton and ask them. I'm sure they'll be more than happy to help.

there is no reason that the gold tips wont work as long as they are at or above the recomended weight for your xbow, ( i believe it is 430gr not sure ) my G T-IIs only weigh 413 gr. w/feathers and a brass insert. & 100 gr tip.

only problem with Horton is you can't get an honest answer out of them far as arrows, they always say don't shoot anything but Horton matched weight arrows or it will void your warranty and could do damage to your xbow.
i think all that is is a bunch of BS because they want to make money off ya....lol
its just that i noticed considerable difference in weights that it concerned me at all, otherwise i would have just used them.
plus we are talking about a new xbow that i have never even fired yet.

xbowhunter17268 wrote - "Horton matched weight arrows" Seems you basically answered your own question...Horton "matched" weight... not necessarily Horton arrows. But again, heavier is better than lighter for the warranty concern. On the other hand...I doubt that the occasional shot with a slightly lighter arrow is gonna hurt the bow. Just be sure you're using the correct "length" arrow...then you should be very close to the right weight. Mike
