Is there an advantage to using bench rest primers over standard?

I have heard that a B/R primer will give ya a longer and hotter flame. I have never used them - just CCI 200.........

TOO be honest, don't waste your money... most factory deer or varmint rifles have a sloppy chamber compared to a true benchrest rife to even notice the difference.. If your shooting a benchrest quality chamber in a 6 PPC or 6 BR then you could see the differnce over the chronograph....they are far more consistant in the long run... my BORDEN built 6 PPC has a standard deviation that's so small you notice anything that you do to the load.... I'm shooting less than .001 total neck clearance on both sides combined.. .261 and about a quarter on a .262 neck..with those tolerances things get notice in a hurry...even a little tiny bit of extra powder will change the velocity..but in factory varmint rifles with .006/8 thousandths per side of neck clearance, save your money... IF you find FEDERAL SMALL RIFLE GOLD METAL MATCH PRIMERS--buy em', they are worth their weight in gold during the current primer shortage...
