I read on a message board that a German Shorthair was found in Minnesota with only an orange blaze collar and Tritronics collar. The closest vet that could read for a microchip was 40 miles away. The vet tech called in the serial number on the e-collar and got the name of the owner who was then able to reclaim his German Shorthair. The amazing part is that the owner and his GSP actually hailed from TN and were on a hunting trip in MN!
So send in your e-collar registration info. Every bit helps should your dog get lost in the field or bolt the fence.

This is VERY important....even the most reliable dog can chase a deer/turkey once in a while & become lost......especially in a strange area. Or just get out of the yard as Deb said..... I not only micro-chip all my guys, but have tags on all of them - NOT the o-ring ones either, these can become caught in fences, brush, etc & break off or hold the dog- I use the ones that bolt flush to the collar.
