i do both ways skin mount and repro's. if the guy is catch and release i have them take length&girth and get a repro close to the size and go from there or if i get a fresh fish in i'm talking like dead within the first twenty -four hours and its a good fish i'll mold it for future use.i also hand carve all my bodies to the exact size of the fish and cast all fins and heads on all fish , makes for a better mount .no grease bleed through take care

depends on who you take it to , iwould not settle on paying anything less than $12.00 inch the cheaper it is the lower quality job you will get. ask the taxidermist questions -do you use the real head, fins if so that is bad . i cast all my heads from the real head and do the same on fins , that eliminates shrinkage, grease bleed through and makes for a higher quality job i also hand carve all my bodies for an exact fit for the fish.
