just checking on some sites for future hunts. and alot have minimum size and a penalty fine for shooting one under the size limit. i can understand the reason behind it, but it sure would be hard to judge being from pa with so many small bucks to look at from year to year

Yes they may fine you if you shoot a small buck, but then they are quite clear on their regulations. My son and I went to Hawkins Ridge Lodge near Eufaula, AL several times and Craig Hawkins always told all his hunters what his rules were - eight or more points or a rack as wide as his ears. You just don't start shooting until you are sure.

i understand about 8points and as wide as the ears. some have 130+ p&y. this will definitely make you look 2-3 times to be sure.

Mrlongdeard, most places that tell you they have to be 130 or better the guide will sit with ya and tell you the shooter buck. most ofen then not.

i was thinking that but nobody on their site explain that. all they tell you is about the fines. i'm all for holding out for the big one, passed a lot of deer this year because i wanted a real big one. ended up not getting one but passed a lot of nice deer. better luck this season.

White Oak Plantation in AL had a 16" min spread size or at least 8 pts. Also, there was a $100 fine for killin a button buck when i hunted there.
Some real quality bucks there so apparently his program is working.
