I forget or at least try to forget about shooting the old shotgun in for my OHIO slug weekend, coming up next weekend.. That little lightweight 1300 turkey camo special really lays the recoil on ya! It actually hurts after about 3 shots of the bench. THE gun shoots fantastic..put the modified choke in and with the FEDERAL TRU_BALL's and it'll cut holes at 50 yards...never seen any other do that with a smooth bore..amazing...I hope I get one of those 200 + pounders near me this weekend...last season, one shot from a tru-ball took a 200 lber out in about 2 seconds....now if they could only make them recoil less.....such a wimper whill I've become after 50+ years..

Frank, why do you use a modified choke? wouldnt you be better off using improved cyl with the slugs?

BECAUSE they basically go in the same hole at 50 yards with a smooth bore...I've tried lots of everything that's made out there and nothing shoots like these FEDERAL TRU_BALLS out of smooth bore..the wad goes through the paper also..guess it flies similar to an actual dart, but it shoot great...

Im sorry Frank I guess I didnt word my question correctly. I was asking still using the tru balls would it not be less punishing and more accurate using an improved cyl choke because of less constriction

I don't have an imp. for this shotgun, guess my suffering is minimal compared to the recieving end of the TRU-BALL !!
