Is the Benelli SBE II worth the money? Where would the best place to buy one be?

Frank do you own one???... i do own one and their as good as they get...Fast....yes faster then any other semi ,i have....including the Mossbergs...835's....and the 1000 waterfowler ,i own also.....only draw back is their lighter and they kick..even with the Comfortech..System..i shot 3.5's at snowgeese this year and it kicks like a mule, Smooth yes........meaning cycling...easy to clean....Yes!!!.....any problems with it None.....i'm on some many other sites and guys love them and some hate'em.....i'm a avid Waterfowler i'm in the field most of the season and this Benelli seen everything form snow to Bay Mudd and it kepts going....Now if your talking service department...i've heard not so good things about their Service department, but thank god ,i hav'nt had to deal with them....so if you can get to shoot one do it and make your decision...as for price...and wheres from 1250 to 1500, i've seen....I drove about 40 miles to pick my Gun up...and i ordered it...but honestly i shoot every other week at the trap Range and its been a great gun.....Honkers41

I didn't say they weren't a great gun...they are truely as good as it gets..the question is are they worth $1500.00 and in some models even more.... I've owned alot of shotguns over the years and haven't had a problem with any of them..keep em clean and they function just fine.. I guess it comes down to how do they pattern, I've seen lots of them shoot on paper and in the field.. are they 3 or 4 times better.. I've never seen one that would put 3 to 4 times more pellets than any $350 dollar gun... YES, they are the best there is, without question.. I've owned two of those inertia system semi's, an old model ?? remington sportsmen and a new Stoeger 2000.. they are easy to aim, stay on target and cycle smoother than silk... the question is the price... not the quality of the firearm.. no disrespect to you or the firearm, only the cost..

Benelli is not the fastest, winchester SX3 is now, and thats the one i would buy. Benelli is a great gun so is the beretta,But if i was going to spend that kind of money on a shotgun it would be an over/under or a sxs. $1300.00 or more for a semi. I don't think so. At the right place you can get the SX3 for less than $800.00

I have a super X2 for turkey and love it! also have a rem 1100 lightweight 20G for bunnies and a rem 1187 12 G for slugs. all good guns try and shoot as many as you can and go with what fits you best!

Frank....I do have to say....the SBE 2 does'nt pattern any better then my mossberg 500 Turkey special....are they worth to spend 1500.00 on...Honestly....No.....why did i spend that much....i got a great christmas bonus.....would i ever spend 1500 again on a Bennelli no....I think it was mostly because of Benelli rep and i did some research on it and like it....but its not the miracle gun....only complaint ,i have is it's too darn light and kicks...as for people saying well its easy to clean....ahhhh...i enjoy cleaning my guns,i could careless if i had 4 parts to clean or 18...that goes with having a gun....Relax Frank no offense takening...Thunderbolt

I think in the long run and after 1000's of shots, you'd see the difference in reliability..your right about one thing, those ineritia feed system do let the recoil transder straight back alright.. My only complaint is their cost, they don't pattern any better than the $400 shotguns no matter what shells you shoot.. I'm going to continue to drag around my old NWTF WW 1300 this spring..at $275 it seems like a steal and it has accounted for a few dozen turkey over the years.... Too bad it was an expensive lesson Thunderbolt...and that your not impressed with it all that much..OH, Well...when your hunting buddies see it, they'll be gaga googoo !

Well Frank most have seen it and have made a big deal over it, I have over 500 shots threw it and not very impressed with it....i mean don't get me wrong,i like it....its fast and i don't miss with it ever since getting it fit for myself, but i agree they are over priced and Yes i'll be sporting the Mossberg 500 Turkey special this Season...cause i know the SBE2 is not going to out pattern my old reliable 500...she's put down 10 birds for me from 15 to 56 yards...so i'll just keep hugging her..... ;D Thunderbolt125

how much faster is the benelli over the rest, and does it make a difference in the field. to me the first shot should count and how fast the others are matter little. with so many great shotguns out there the only difference is the price one pays.

Mrlongbeard, the benelli is no longer the fastest semi anymore. The sx3 from winchester is. It has the speed record now, 12 shots in 1.442 sec.
Yes you are right about the first shot but if your shooting at a flock of geese or ducks you need more than the first shot.

Yeah but the limit here in Pa is 6 ducks....why not enjoy the hunt.....and take one at a time...like i do....with my SBE2....snicker......anyways i watched SX3 on UTube....the guns pushing the edge and are almost full auto.It did'nt impress me...don't like the looks of it and i wonder what the PGC will say about this gun in the up comming ...Thunderbolt125

well thunderbolt, the first thing, i think your just mad because the SX3 is faster than the benelli, the second reason, you shoot one at a time is because the benelli pounds the crap out of you, you can't get the second shot off, and for being an auto, that's really lame excuse, because it's how fast you pull the trigger.
