Number 4 will be the .308 Winchester !! Talk about a following..the old timers never accepted this little half pint, the younger hunters love it...when it comes right down to it, it's far more efficient than the other 30 calibers..that 100 fps doesn't mean diddley squat to the heart/lung area.. MYself, I've never owned one..shot plenty of them..and thought there was very little if any difference from the old standby's.. YOU read all the time how accurate this round is supposed to be...in all the years, I've participated in organized benchrest shooting I've never really seen one that was competitive in the factory shooting classes or the custom built rifles...the military shooters use it alot and it's seen on firing lines everywhere..GREAT ROUND, certainly one of the top two CLASSIC's of all time in the PA DEER WOODS...OK MEN, have at er'

Man is this round something. I have and made the 7.62 round accurate. I have shot targets at 1000 meters with this round no problems. It has like the 30-06 round spawned alot of other great rounds.

I've about 5 different .308's over the years and would never be without one.

My pap has a model 88 winchester 308, he loves it and has carried it every year since 1958, I shot a bear with it in 2005, made a great shot on it.

I bought a Savage 110 in .308 Win a couple years ago. After hearing for so long how accurate they are I was disappointed to find that mine could only do 2 MOA at 100 yds. I sold it. But i did kill some stuff with it first.

Could never see owning one if I could buy the same rifle in 30/06........When I was in college my three buddies all used 308's and I used a 270...We were always arguing about ballistics..Finally we decide to bring our guns back the next week and we had a target match at a nearby gravel pit....I won with my 270.
