Ive always owned 2's but Johnson & some others are now only making 4's.
What do you all think is the best?

no matter what they do they won't get the power out of a four stroke the way they do with the two stroke.

Plus the 4's are much heavier which is causing problems on smaller craft's transom's freeboard. In addition, longevity of 2 vs 4 is still at question. The 2's long life is already proven.

no dout people don't know how complex these new four strokes are and how much it will cost to fix.

Its my understanding that the 4 stroke motors spend more time off the water just for routine maintenance

As long as i can get 2 I will. The addl weight factor of the 4's is a negative on smaller boats.
