This is what I want to end up being able to do....as long as x-country skiing isn't hard to learn that is. Last thing I need is to not know how to ski while being pulled by a team of exubarant GSPS!!! www.reshaequip.com/products/ski-jor.html

My wife and I used to x-country ski, but we haven't done it in years. She wants to go again this winter. The skis are very long and slender. The boots are low and connect to the ski only at the toe. It is easy to learn, except I have a problem stopping. So I stayed on the more level trails. The cheaper skis either have scales or mohair strips on the bottom so they easily slide forward and almost stop you from going backward. No waxing. I say try it, you'll enjoy it.

Thanks BT, I'm definitely going to try it. Been looking for a way to get out in the snows & be able to keep up with the dogs(they can REALLY outrun me in deep snow.....) w/o buying a snowmobile!! ;D Plus I figure a great way to get out around home when there's no time to drive to an SGL, Presque Isle has a ski trail & only it's 10 min from me!!

I know a girl who does this with her Border Collies, several with GSPS and one with Britts. GSPS make up some of the top ski-jor dog teams in the racing events! Maybe a new venue for me to do in the winter with the furkids.......
