We had a bad day due due high water and way too much debris to even put you line in the water.

I WISH I had taken pics of or kept 2 cats I caught last year out of Elk, I know they weren't channels...probably 12-15lbs. I now think they were flatheads from your pics extreme, identical to the ones in your pics...but never heard of them being in Elk??? I caught them several miles upsteam of the lake. I have fished Elk all my life & never saw or caught these cats before or since there?? Curious enough now to contact the PF&BC & inquire.

I dont see any reason why they wouldnt be. heres a clip from the pa f&bc site: Flathead catfish are native to the lower Great Lakes and the Mississippi River basin, from western Pennsylvania southward. They are also in Gulf of Mexico watersheds, and can live in reservoirs. In Pennsylvania, flatheads are found mainly in the Ohio, Allegheny and Monongahela rivers.

I read somewhere that the PF&BC wants any flatheads caught in the Susquehanna to NOT be released back into the river. Something about flatheads being a vicious predator and could possibly have a negative affect on other species.
Anyone else hear anything about this?

Yes, you are correct. From the PA Game & Fish site:
SUSQUEHANNA RIVER While channel catfish can be caught in many portions of both the West and North branches of the Susquehanna River, the main stem of the river is most associated with channel catfish activity. Some of the best action occurs near Harrisburg. Expect to find the Susquehanna's best channel catfishing in the longer, deeper pools. These areas offer the best habitat for forktails, with the fastest action occurring before dark and extending well into the night. Catfish action on the Susquehanna isn't limited to channel cats. Flatheads have been caught around the Safe Harbor and York Haven dams. The commission asks anglers to keep flatheads that were likely illegally introduced into these waters and not to release them elsewhere.

Interesting info!!
I fish the lower reaches of the susky where it joins the flats of the upper cheasapeake bay. I have only caught channels in that stretch. In fact...i have over the years caught cats with 2-4" flounders in their gut. Dont know if the cats go south or flounders north or a lil bit of both.
