Shot one at the ATA show and it was nice. There was some hand shock but not excessive. Sounded pretty quiet but I'd want to measure the noise before I passed final judgment. With all of the Oneida bow work that I do much of it is geared toward noise reduction and I only rely on my db meter to provide hard data as to how quiet/noisy a bow is. I've tested a ton of bows of all brands and had people here when I've done it and their responses and perceptions at times have been so opposite of what the db meter actually reported that to me what someone claims they hear or don't hear is totally subjective and holds very little value. Much the same as speed. I've seen people say "Wow that bow is smoking but once they shoot it through my chronograph they can't believe it's shooting nowhere near as fast as they thought it was. You'd be amazed at how many people say "that bow has to be shooting 300 fps" only to find it's it's in the low to barely mid 200's.. Hard measurable data doesn't lie in these cases I saw nothing that would make me shy away from the Deadzone though. Seems to be very well built, weight was respectable, nice brace height and the draw cycle wasn't as bad as some I've shot. Being a "Lever Action" bow fan myself I just can't come to grips with shooting a bow with "training wheels" though... . Sorry, couldn't resist...it's an old Oneida/Lever action bow shooters joke..

training wheels!!!!!!!!! very funny buddy Long standing "joke or saying" with die hard Oneida shooters. Given the absence of wheels and the conventional round cam's etc. plus the uniqueness of Oneida's at sometime someone came up with all other bows as those having training wheels. Oneida/Lever bow shooters also typically refer to all other compounds as "wheelie bows". Just good natured ribbing back and forth as I've shot and worked on em all. Just that I personally like the lever limbed style for many reasons and that's "my specialty" when it comes to the work I do.
