just wondering if there were any other younger guys on this new forum. I am new to hunting and my father doesn't hunt so I'm learning a lot on my own and from friends.

I recommend for now ,use the internet to accumulate information and knowledge. There is a wealth of information in cyber space,use it to your advantage

My father worked on the road alot when I was old enough to hunt so I learned alot by trial and error. It will be very satisfying to know that you did it on your own. And like the others hunters said ask as many questions as you want. There are no dumb questions. I am still learning today. Just try to keep the little things in mind, like what scares the animals and why do they do what they do. That info goes a long way.

8-)my fathers teaching me how to hunt but im also looking for a few pointers i think im going to make a topic on a few pointers in the youth forum!!! when you get a chance take a look at it!!!

this young guys seem to have their heads screwed on straight. read what you can, watch the shows[ not always good info but some help] on tv. talk with other hunters and good luck hunting and be careful

Hey fergie, when i was in high school we had a Huntin & Fishin Club, Archery Club plus a Fly Tying Club.
If your school doesnt...be some great clubs maybe for you to start! I met many friends stemmin from those clubs plus learned a lot of neat stuff.

loggy i would step right up and try and organize these types of clubs but there are only like 5 ppl that i no that hunt in my school of 2000 so it would be a pretty small club but i do hear where you are coming from

fergie in the world of hunting everybody still learns something. after 38 yrs still learning. wasnt' that long ago when we didn't even know deer made sounds. if you need somebody to talk with leadpoisoning is a great guy and he can help.
