I am taking my Grandson out. I am going to buy a youth shotgun for him and am not sure if I should get him a turkey gun or a regular shotgun and buy a turkey choke tube for it . Any suggestions?

went out this morning with a buddy and his 14 year old nephew. we had 5 going nuts right off the bat. I backed off and called for him. Called in 4 jakes and a longbeard in about 20 minutes. He finally shot and missed and it flew over my head. He said that he really got nervous and had trouble breathing. I told him that this feeling is what it is all about not so much the kill, even though it would have been nice to have shot one I think he had a good time. Lets hear everybodies "success stories". Anytime in the woods with a kid is a success.

Zark, What a beautiful day for the youth opener!! Even though your buddy's nephew didn't connect on a bird, this first day out, sounds like you are starting him off on the right foot about it's not so much the kill. but the chance to be out in the woods, and have you call in some nice birds, and for your buddy's nephew to see what a thrill it is to even get a chance at shooting a bird. Good Luck with the rest of Turkey Season. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
