A good portion of the Appalachian Trail winds through PA (about 230 miles of the 2,175 mile trail). Pennsylvania is even home to the midway point on the trail, basically my backyard of Michuax SF near Pine Grove State Park.
Have you ever hiked the trail for any length? Or Have you or anyone you know ever done a thru hike?

In 7th grade we took a field trip to Pine Grove State Park, and one of the activities we did was hiking the trail up to the midway point.

I have backpacked most of the trail that runs through Pa. it's a great trail, I have four boys and they were all boy scouts and I was a leader, all the boys in the troup had a great time hikeing it, I don't think I could keep up with the boys these days.
