what is your opinion,do you think the PAGC should do more for those of us that are challenged by age and disabilities. ie allow quads on sgl roads w/permit allow motorized chairs on sgl roads open more sgl roads to vehicles Lets hear some of your ideas and solutions to those that are challenged.

I absolutely think quads and motorized wheelchairs should be allowed on existing SGL roads and firetrails. I'm not sure about how to improve access, other than allowing volunteers come in and help open and improve more trails for them. Not sure the GC would ever allow that?

I agree too, would be great to see more roads and trails opened as long as they enforce the permit rules. Unfortunately we all know a lot of guys will try and go around the rules and just run wild with quads and vehicles if given the chance. There are several groups out there that do assist people with disabilities and I salute them!

I believe the pgc should open more roads on game lands to handicap permitees. Especially on gamelands that are not on the tops of mountains. It seems if you check the handicap maps all the roads open to vehicles are on the tops of mountains.

I Would like to see some areas made handicapped accessible For example bridges across small creeks or maybe some ground blinds that are wheel chair accessible.Even though I am fortunate enough to be able to walk were I need to go,life sometimes deals you a bad hand.It would be good to know these helps were available

As a disabled hunter and fisherman of over 50 years, who still trys and get out. I think a some people think they deserve special treatment. Yes it is nice and I take advantage of what is offered but you have to play the hand life deals. Being realistic, how can I expect to enjoy everything offered. Take care of the young we old foogies have had our day I also think alot is offered that is not taken advantage of by people in my predicament [whelchair bound, blind & deaf on oneside w/ left side weakness. Reading that description reminds me of a joke about the lost & found poster for a dog named LUCKY

I would like to reply to the opinion sent in by Piekarskip. I don't find your reply humorous, making fun of someone with multiple disabilities is rude and idiotic !!!! YOUR mentality is showing and I thought I was the one with a head injury. I am not old, in my 40's , and I don't want to be treated special!!! I just want to do and enjoy the things I did before my disability. I have given up alot, my job, my friends, a boat, a harley, 2003 mustang gt, ford pickup, and spent my entire lifes savings , over $30,000.00 just to survive and to keep my home so I would hardly call me lucky!!! I suggest that you stuff your ears so you can't hear a sound, put a patch over your eye, slam your arm , hand, fingers, leg, and foot in your car door a few times, then spin around in a circle until you get dizzy and try to imagine day to day life like that. Don't assume that your disabilities are the worst!!! every case is different!!!! ( l ) your comments are unjustified!!!!! The Hawk

Like to say hello to all you , I'm also limited on what I can do , I'm disabled from a spine injury , I can walk about 100 yards ,but will need carried back..I also think the PGC should do more for us. Here where I live there is only one disabled hunting area withing 50+ miles of my home.. I also think they should allow some use of ATV's. Oh yea I'm 41 years old..if that matter's?
Hope I get to meet some nice folks here. Dan

Hello Dan, I am not sure where you live but the army corps of engineers sponsors a hunt for wheel in sportsman on the raystown lake property. They have volunteers to take you out to your area and help with the whole hunt. If you would be interested in this or other areas offering special needs hunts I would glad to try and get you more info. The Hawk

I just can't walk /stand or sit in one place long. Here is my E-mail thunder1965_98@yahoo.com can you send me some info ? Sounds interesting...Is it buck /doe or any ?

hawk You are one of the ones I am talking about assuming that you are entitled to a normal life. YOU DID NOT GIVE ANYTHING UP it was taken away by nature. Try and make the best out of a bad situation. Accept that it happened and a little bit of the bitterness might leave your life. I don't want to get into a contest about who has the worst situation everyone is different
