Thought I'd try to get this forum rolling again with some pics of my newest acquisition. I attended the Contemporary Longrifle Association Show in Lexington, KY in August and I really fell in love with this gun. It just looks old. L& R Lock; Colerain round rifliled barrel; built by Tom and Roy Stroh of Georgia GBJ [/img]

The baby and I are heading to Kentucky in about 45 days to see if we can get a Longhunters Record Book buck. Been planning this hunt for two years so I'm hoping this early cool weather holds.

Thanks Everyone. Had her out for some sighting in last weekend. Grouped well but six inches off bull. A little tapping and file work will fix that.
Anyone else taking a trip for Muzzy season this year?

Kind of strange, I had to check the closet to make sure my gun was still there. I have one rather similar, perhaps by the same maker.
L&R lock, plain southern style iron furnished, with no butt plate. There is a standing liberty quarter in the grease hole of mine and the trigger guard looks identical. Mine is natural black walnut with a swamped Octagon barrel. Not sure of the barrel maker, round bottom grooves, about the same width as the lands.
I have only one lock screw, with a bone or antler escrutcheon. a long lanky and surprisingly light 50 cal gun. Mine does have DSTs. Otherwise it is definitely a kissin counsin to yours.

Zim,
Maker of mine is Tom Stroh out of Georgia. The barrel on mine is a Colerane with round bottom rifling also.

No other way to go . I shot a muzzleloader before I ever shot a modern rifle. In my opinion they are 10 times the fun!!

She's a beaut GBJ!!!! Good luck on your trip, hope you bag the big 'un! This will be my first year hunting with mine (TC Firestorm), I'm planning on using it early ML & rifle, I want to at least get one deer with it before I use a rifle.
