i have a bout a dozen alum 2117 - XX75's that need refletching....i seen where 2216 would be good for xbows....i'm looking at weight charts for arrows and there is not much difference between the two....if i cut my 2117's down from the rear to keep the threads for broadheads and cut the rear off for xbow nocks to slip in....they should be good enough for my 200 exocet..................bob

They will work just fine , in fact if you dont have flat noks , another threaded insert will work as long as there are no sharp edges (chuck in drill and sand slightly). I am not positive but i believe in the early years excalibur recommended 2117s

;D Yep over the last few years i have used up all of the alum. shafts i had around,,, 2213 , 2215 , 2216 , 2219 , 2115 , 2117 , you will be surprised how many you will destroy if you unload after hunting by shooting into the ground , seems if there is a stone underground i will hit it. LOL

yeah i can imagin that....it was waiting on my deck when i got home ....watched the dvd that came with it, it was the same videos i watched on excalibers website....30 minutes later it was all together with the right stuff scope package....set up at 20 yards and the dang thing was only an inch high and an inch to the right....a few clicks on the scope and bingo....my girlrfiend shot it once and hit a 1/2" high dead center....not used to the noise but any deer in the crosshairs isn't going to have a chance....next session will be how far back to 40 yards it shoots...............bob ....

another threaded insert will work funny you say that....the arrows that came with the kit has threaded inserts at the back....good thing too, i think i know why....i had to screw in a machine screw then use a pair of pliers to get them outta my target....but they weren't inserts i could use up front for tips as the threads were only at the end of the insert and not inset like the front................bob ....

Yes , you can make or buy a puller with a t-handle to pull arrows from your target if they are hard to remove.

;D Yes sometimes finding a target that will hold up is a problem , i use the morell outdoor range for field points and the block for broadheads. I tried the mckenzie 3-d targets with bhds but in just a few sessions i was getting pass thrus.

right now i have the white styro block from walmart with the red white and blue targets....shooting into the big side the arrows were going all the way through but the last 3" to where the vanes were showing bout an inch....then i turned it sideways and shot the small targets, then that's when i had only 1.5" showing of the tail of the shaft..............bob

Try the bm bag target from walmart. It works great for fp. I have 200 shots in it and can honestly say its the best I have tried.
Good Luck, Stosh

there's a company that makes a target called monster bag. my wifes tenpoint has been shot into it for over a year now without a pass thru. the only problem is you can only use field points

Bob -
You say you have an Exocet 200...? I personally would not shoot anything less than 2219 "arrows" thru a high power crossbow. I do...shoot 2216 arrows...but only in less than 300fps bows.
It may be your nose that gets wacked if one of those light weight arrows decides to collapse after pulling the trigger! Not worth it to me.
Just my thoughts..

I beleve if you were to put a 2117 or 2216 on a spine scale you will find the 20" shaft has more than enough spine strength . There are many that shoot 3-D that use the 2213 shaft out of 200 lb. bows. the factory recommends at least a 350gr. arrow on the excalibur , and used to sell both the 2213 and 2216 bolts with there pkgs.
