I have long wanted to go on a mushroom tour...I have seen these advertised where you go out with a knowledgeable person & identify different species. I'd love to learn firsthand some varieties safe to eat.

When I was a kid, my dad would take e mushroom picking. Sometimes we would go after "sheephead" and "haystacks"(morel) most of the time we would head out to the cow pastures and pick regular field mushrooms. Nothing like a batch of sauteed mushrooms poured over anything!!

buck, get some nice morel's fresh preferred but dried will work place a bunch in some red wine for about 2 hours. drain, the melt some butter (not margarine) in a pan the slowly sautee them and put on any meat except fish it's undoubtly the best you will ever have. the best meat is elk tenderloin or bear tenderloin, everything just melts in your mouth. i did most of the cooking when we were at camp. ok, now i have made myself hungry, thanks for reminding me of the good old days..
