I am new to hunting with a crossbow and a question came to me the other day. Does it hurt the limbs by having the crossbow cocked for long periods of time? It seems to me that it would put alot of stress on the limbs but maybe they are made for that.

Should be ok for the days hunt just carry a old bolt (arrow) to let go at the end of day in colder temps wouldn't leave it cocked all day good luck

2feathers, I hunt with a tenpoint, and if I am going out in the evening and then again the very next morning, I leave it cocked, then if I can't make it out for a few days after that I have an old bolt I use to release it until I can make it out again. I have never had a problem doing this with my bow and it is about 6 years old.
