I have been watching a real nice 10 and 2 very good 8’s all summer. Then about 2 weeks before the season opened the deer were spotted in the field and that’s all it took every hunter and there brother was in the area. On the first day some guy decides he is going to stalk deer with a bow at 6pm AAAAAAAAAAA. Then I had 2 guys that I know from a local archery club show up. One had never hunted the area the other was one of those last minute wonders who heard about the 10. Well one evening I’m on stand and with all the woods to hunt they try to cut me off by moving into the 75 yard area from the swamp to me and the oaks. It stinks when you spend all summer scouting and try to do everything that will up your odds only to have some horn hogs move in on you especially when they do more spooking than hunting. Unfortunately my deer hit the posted property and my only shot at them will be the rut. The land is open state and private land but can someone explain why some hunters go nuts over a rack? when I see a hunter in an are I hunt I keep my distance has respect for others totally gone down the toilet

I hear you man guys get to crazy over big bucks One year I had a real nice spot on public land which I scouted a nice 8 pointer and opening day I was sitting on stand and soon as day break was ready to hit this guy prob about 50 yards from me decided to come crashing down the hill all you heard was trigs branches you name it breaking and whatever deer would be there was spooked. Cant do any thing about it when your on public land this year Im trying bow hunting and a old guy my wifes step dad knows is leting me hunt his 26 acer land so I got lucky to have to hunt on private land I would suggest to ask somone to hunt there land or find a place you dont think any one would hunt Good luck this season and shoot that big one and rub it in there face lol Dave

My area is just a tab over a mile and a half up the ridge from the one gate and a mile from the other gate and its in the sweet spot where no on walks very often. When they do walk it, they stay on the old logging roads which keeps the deer on the break of the hill between the 3 old roads and the creek below. I stumbled onto it a couple years ago while trying a "last chance" plan. Sometimes its easier to find where they go when pushed and hunt that while the other guys drive them to you going to and from their stands.

can someone explain why some hunters go nuts over a rack? Because if we don't feed them all year round and let them get 3 1/2 years old or older before we shoot them we aren't hunters. God forbid we hunt for meat vs antlers.
