I wasn't out with my ML today - went for grouse - but saw a nice 8pt, a 6 or 8pt (hard to count from the back!!) 5 doe and a HUGE 10 or 12 point. Funny thing was, my one dog Tara was on point, we went working up to her thinking it was a bird & the big boy jumps up about 30yds in front of her & about 10 yds in front of Buddy!!! I'm pretty sure she was pointing him but could have been fresh grouse scent & he just happened to be there,(she didn;t react at all when he jumped up) anyway, it was pretty cool, he was a gorgeous buck.

Got out this morning and saw a fork horn..he came in about 25 yrds....then by 9 am I had an inconsiderate hunter walk right past me and acknowledged he saw me then went about 100 yrds in front of me and proceeded to hunt squirrel by 10:30 I'd had enough and got down and left..crap like that I don't understand

I killed two bucks in the VA early ML season with my White .504, a nice fat 3 point and button that fooled me into thinking he was a doe (by himself, medium size, long snout..)
Then two more in rifle season, 5 point that was shot by someone else earlier( he was hurting and no body claimed him) so I put him down and a big fat doe on Thankgiving Day with Rem. .30-06.
