we also saw a all black ringneck rooster, back in october of this year, and once again, we didn't have our camera in the truck, it was on the side of the road in a field with another ringneck rooster(normal) colored one, anyway, mrlongbeard called the 'pgc" and the "phesants forever" and they told him it was a recessive gene, called melonistic, i know i spelled that word wrong. they said they might of stocked it, they said only 1 in 10 to 15 thousand birds is that black color.

Zodiack wich game lands do you hunt??? I've had a hard time at 109. My poor Weime has no idea what a pheasant looks like.

I hunt 109, Seagull(Barton RD), the new SGL right off RTE 8....and 2 others in Wattsburg, and 2 in Cambridge by the pheasant farm (sorry, don't know the numbers)have done well at all of them. Kinda everywhere....Kimball RD & East Springfield some also... At 109, the birds get pushed into the thick stuff quick...dog needs to be willing to dig in & have a good nose.....the phez will burrow under the grasses along the swampy areas a lot by the RR tracks. Personally, not my favorite place to hunt & to close to roads for my guys to hunt.....haven't hunted it in about 4 years now but my buddy did well there last year.
