i am thinking about taking up coyote hunting after talking to a couple of guys in the local tavern and was wondering if you guys could give me some basic advice on what i should do or shouldn't do for that matter. or maybe even someone to show me the ropes it sounded like those guys really enjoy it.

MMMmmmmm, shouldda started with something simplier...how about FOX....boy, that is a tuff sport to say the least.. most seasoned veterens are rookies at best in that field... for the amount of calling that your going to do for the rewards that will be given you, you'd better be passionate about the sport.. have you thought about trapping or hooking up with someone with dogs.. for the amount of hours your going to spend.. you have to really love this sport to even consider trying to hunt them..lots of hours with zero reward for the most part...

Start with a basic mouse bulb squeaker, and an electronic caller that has prey and coyotee noises on it. I'm fairly new to it myself but I'm getting closer, the best thing to do is report your experience after each time out to someone used to it so they can give you advice for your next step. Each time of the year presents different oppurtunities like in spring not sure which month exactly I think is when they mate. Nite time I've been using a red lite and buckshot.
