PSE released the "Omen" and the TAC 15 crossbow at the ATA yesterday.
The Omen is based on the X-Force design with an IBO rating of 366 fps. I might just have to try this one out ;D
The TAC 15 is a crossbow designed around the lower receiver of the AR-15.
Soon as I get some pics of each I will post them here, but you can go on Archery Talk and find a couple pics of each.

Some unforeseen circumstances came up that caused me to have to cancel at the last minute.. First time in quite a few years that I've missed it. I have quite a few friends there including some manning booths so I'm sure they'll fill me in on what I missed. Mostly miss seeing the many friends I've made over the years in the Archery Industry, that's the biggest thing I miss right now.

PSE's TAC-15 crossbow. Looks like an AR-15 with a rail and set of limbs attached to it. I'm told the cocking mechanism used was essentially a hand cranked boat winch.

one thing we herd about was a cable guard roller that doesn't move but instead just turns. they say it add 30 fps to your bow. don't know how the manufactures feel about this for warranty. it seems to add pre load to your limbs.

Here is another thing from the ATA show that my good friend who is very knowledgeable in the Archery Industry found to be quite innovative. He intends to put one to the test and this man is an Engineer, founder/owner of a newer bow company and typically quick to spot anything "gimmick like" or weak in quality. It's a rest similar to the Whisker Biscuit but it also incorporates the features of a drop away rest. Apparently the 3 sets of bristles that cradle the arrow are spring loaded so they adapt to any size shaft and at the same time are inertia driven so that upon release they retract reducing or eliminating any contact with the arrow and fletching. Certainly something I'm anxious to try as well being a devout WB shooter. Below is the web link for this rest, made in Maryland BTW. www.midatlanticarchery.com/vanishingrest.aspxI'll be talking more in the next few days to my 2 good friends and find out what else was unveiled that I missed out. I'll keep you posted as I hear more. mrl....I'll ask about this cable guard roller and see if they know anything.

Another up & coming Company who I'm told makes some nice Broadheads and some fabulously strong glues and arrow fletching supplies is Steel Force. I haven't tried any myself yet but I've heard nothing but great reports about their products from some very knowledgeable & reputable people. I'm hoping to have some samples on their way to me so in a while I should be able to provide some "hands on" feed back in regard to their products. One nice thing is they are located in good old Pa., in the Pocono's. www.steelforce.com/home.html

I did a bit of quick inter net research on this item and I encourage anyone to type in bowturbo on a google search and check out feedback & testimony on this item as well.
