Bob, Good luck in finding a suitable X-bow. Your disability is exactly why we have legalized them.
God speed.

I think you still need a permit. My buddy hunts with one because of a shoulder problem. All he did was get a note from the Doc. and he got his permit. Very simple process. Good luck.

I own an Excalibur 185lb Exomag, and am quite pleased with it. Bought it used w/ scope for $300. I bought some custom bolts & a quiver to go with it. Total ~$500 with crankaroo As for recurves being wider - yes, but I can take the string off, & store it in a double gun case. I can also replace the string without going to a bow show, or buying a press. The crankaroo (~$95) & a horizontal quiver mount (~$9) can be bought from Dan Miller in OH. He's a great guy (& Excalibr's warranty rep in the US): Horizontal Archery 37432 Fifth Ave. Sardis, OH 43946 US 740-483-2312 He can also put you in touch with a dealer near you. Excalibur has a very active forum on their website you may wish to look at too: www.excaliburcrossbow.com/phpBB2/index.phpIn any case, good luck. -Mike

DON'T LET ANYBODY TELL YOU IT'S NOT RIGHT TO HUNT WITH ONE. THE BOTTOM LINE IS HUNTING IS HUNTING NO MATTER WHAT YOU USE. and i'm not shouting just making a point tried of the self appointed leaders of our sport telling everybody what right and what wrong. good luck this season well stated and i agree with this 100%
