due to my nerve damage from my brain surgery last august on my right side (in which i'm righty) i'm having a real hard time using my regular bow....when i can get it to full draw which is bout 3 or 4 times out of 10 tries, i'm all over the place with my arrows....i don't feel i can make the clean shot i need to harvest a deer humanely in my mind....so i've been looking at some xbows to buy....so out of the list of these xbows here, from your experience with owning and shooting these only....
Barnett Quad 400 AVI....unknown #
Barnett Predator....unknown #

Tenpoint Pro Elite HP....185 #
Tenpoint Pro Fusion175 #
i've picked xbows with 200 max pull as PA has that limit....what's with the ten point price of $1,000 + price tags over all the others....i've read all spec's on all these xbows and kinda understand them....what's the difference between 20" and 22" bolts, recurve or compound....most likely will be set to go by next years season....if i think of any other questions they'll be posted....thx.....................bob

My personal choice is the Excalibur Exocet #175 , i like the simplicity of a recurve , they have a really good trigger great accuracy and factory service that is rivaled by none. that said most all are are good xbows , i have owned horton and ten point , but have chosen excal as my hunting bow. one other point to consider would be string changes and serving repairs both are a simple job with a recurve , but a bowpress is needed to work on the compound xbows.

Bob, sorry to hear that you're having problems getting back on an even keel, but glad that you'll have a crossbow to get out. Shoot another big one!

I have not owned a Barnett, but know many who have and the majority would NOT buy another one. Too many problems

my choice for the money would be a horton or the parker,if you got 1,000 you couldnt be a 10point..
best of al try them all out and decide for yourself, what fits you..and you pocket book..

DON'T LET ANYBODY TELL YOU IT'S NOT RIGHT TO HUNT WITH ONE. THE BOTTOM LINE IS HUNTING IS HUNTING NO MATTER WHAT YOU USE. and i'm not shouting just making a point tried of the self appointed leaders of our sport telling everybody what right and what wrong. good luck this season

Another bow to look at is the Darton (Great Lakes) crossbows.
I've got two of them (Stinger and Fireforce) and am very happy with the mechanical design and the way they work. The trigger pull is very close to rifle like...short takeup and a crisp let-off.
While the stock is a bit weird looking for many, the basic bow is very nice. They are also like most all higher end crossbows, very accurate. I've ruined a coupla arrows with these bows. Like putting one into the back of the other!! I only shoot one arrow per dot in my target now...arrows are too expensive.

I have the ten point stealth, I've had it going on 7 years now, shot 4 nice bucks with it so far and hoping to get my 5th one with it this year. I believe the ten point pro elite hp #185 name took the place of the stealth. I wouldn't trade it for any other crossbow out there. Comparing the ten point x-bow to others is like comparing busnell scopes to leupold, You get what you pay for.......Just my opinion.
