try this little project. it only takes about an hour but your kid will look at the results and thank you for llife start with the tail white side up next spit the skin all the way down next remove the bone next trim off any excess from the base of the tail salt hevily for about 8-12 hrs next cover with borax until completly dry next choose two sheets of felt from walmart they are about the size of a sheet of paper 8x11? roughly trace the outline of the tail but make sure it is not to the exteme edges of the 1st sheet do the same with the second layer but make it a bit bigger say 3/4" all the way around then hot glue it all together and done hope ypu all try it soon johnny z

When I was very little my grandpa had a deer tail mounted on a wooden plaque just like that except for the double felt. I forgot all about it over the years.
