***RALLY ALERT***
Harrisburg Gun Control Juggernaut Rolling Again—HELP Needed Gunowners!
On Tuesday, April 21, 2009 the 4th Annual Second Amendment-Second to None Rally in Harrisburg starts at 10AM in the Harrisburg Capitol Rotunda (plan on being there at 9AM) to celebrate our constitutionally protected right to bear arms and to ‘reject’, IN THE STRONGEST POSSIBLE TERMS, the agenda of some in government that criminals and their actions can dictate how we exercise ‘our’ freedoms!
Ø Are YOU tired of the constant tirade and drumbeat of anti-2nd Amendment legislators and organizations that hold US responsible for criminal acts committed by those who should be in JAIL??
Ø Are YOU tired of elected leaders swearing an oath to our constitution and then selectively shredding our freedoms because of prejudice, fear or a desire for the expansion of governmental power at OUR expense??
Ø Are YOU tired of being subjected to legislation devised by legislators who have not read the Constitution?
Ø Do YOU want to send a message that enough is enough??
Then PLEASE join with us to send our message of Freedom around this state and the nation by attending this rally! It is our fervent desire to advance our freedoms BUT we cannot get there without your help! We are ALL volunteers and this is YOUR rally for YOUR FREEDOMS!
Joining us at this 4th Annual Second Amendment-Second to None Rally in Harrisburg are nationally recognized leaders from around the nation as follows:
Ø Stephen Halbrook, nationally renowned 2nd Amendment Attorney
Ø Larry Pratt, Gun Owners of America President
Ø John Sigler, National Rifle Association President
Ø Joe Tartaro, Executive Editor- The NEW Gun Week
Ø Peggy Tartaro, Executive Editor- Women & Guns Magazine
Ø Marinelle Thompson, Second Amendment Sisters National Coordinator
These national leaders will be joined by Rep. Daryl Metcalfe and dozens of pro-gun legislative leaders from the House and Senate along with ALL the leaders of ‘every’ grassroots PA organization.
Each of the three previous rallies has shown dramatic increases in the interest and desire of citizens to protect the freedoms that are an inseparable part of our heritage. YOU do not want to miss this golden opportunity to be part of a special moment when citizens from around our state rise up and claim the rights bequeathed to us by our forefathers ‘free from government manipulation’!
With the willing help of the Philadelphia legislative Caucus anti-gun groups have continued their assault on our freedoms. Highlighted by anti-gun Rep. Cruz’s HB 375 (formerly HB 760 from last session), a gun control measure that calls for a statewide registry of guns and requires gun owners to renew their registration annually at a cost of $10 per gun, per year. In addition, individual gun owners would have to be fingerprinted, undergo a background check and carry a registration card – with the owner’s photograph – with the gun at all times. If registration is denied for any reason, the firearm would be confiscated. This unconstitutional legislation is joined by a growing list of unconstitutional bills (14 anti-gun bills in the House and 12 in the Senate) that represent the cream of the crop of gun control as advanced by Sarah Brady, Josh Sugarman and their ‘minions’.
However, THIS time we are taking the offensive by composing and filing our OWN agenda of Pro-Gun Bills spearheaded by Castle Doctrine, HB 40. We now have a growing list of our OWN bills that stands at 14 PRO-gun bills in the House and is growing every day. It is important to point out that despite what you have been told or may have heard, it is no mistake that Pennsylvania is graded by the anti-gun organizations as being the 10th most restrictive state in the nation for gun ownership. We have scores of problems with PA gun laws and these laws can be devastating if you are not well-educated and knowledgeable on how to properly navigate the so-called ‘reasonable’ restrictions placed on your freedoms!!
In the end it is all up to you as to whether or not you believe this right is important enough to turn off the TV or push away the keyboard and learn how to really fix politics. At this rally you will have the opportunity to join together in teams that go around and personally make a political statement to each legislative office in the capital. This is a grassroots rally! It is meant to be your presence that is important and that is why we are going to show you how WE play politics!! You will see many supportive pro-gun politicians at this rally as well as the representatives from national gun rights organizations, but in reality the focus of this rally is to bring YOU to Harrisburg so that you can learn what it takes to defend freedom. We will show you how to wield REAL political power effectively in Harrisburg to engage the legislators directly, ask questions, and explain why these flawed concepts won’t work. We will be there with you shoulder to shoulder and we will show you what has made us the most important state in the nation in stopping these attacks on our freedoms. In the end it is all up to you and we hope you will help!
Right now we have a slim majority in the legislature who will act appropriately when gun control is brought before them and the key leaders within this majority (special commendation here to Rep. Metcalfe) have worked tirelessly to set up this rally and to advance and promote legislation that will achieve those goals. It is important to remember that while the Constitution is realistically ‘only’ a piece of paper, what gives it true power is the citizens belief in it and willingness to stand by it at critical moments and this is one of those moments!
Please join with us on April 21 - We look forward to working with you!
