From the PF&BC web site:
Local catfish expert Stephen Manukas reported that the flathead catfish are biting. Stephen recently boated 6 flatheads, 4 in the 5 to 10 pound range, one over 12 pounds and a nice 19 pounder.
According to Stephen this is prime time for large cats with the water temperature at 61 degrees in the Ohio River and the fish he landed having large bellies.
Stephen's goal for this season is a new state record, current state record is 48 lbs 6 oz.. View more information about state record flathead from the Ohio River.
The Ohio River flathead record was short lived and beaten by the current recorded holder from Eastern PA. It is time to bring the record back to South Western PA.
