Not so sure about the Raiders. Most likely an entry level shaft or one made just for Dick's. In any case they are not underspined (too light) for your setup. In fact, they might be just a tad on the stiff side, but that isn't all bad. They should be just fine when and if you get the bow weight to 55#. Just remember that you have to tune your equipment for them to fly well with broadheads, assuming that is your intention. If you don't know what the term "tuning" is about then I would refer you to Easton's Tuning Guide which can be had on either www.huntersfriend.com or www.bowjackson.com. Learn how to tune and you'll be in like flint. Have a happy hunting season.

I just got back into bow hunting after a long lay off about 8 years due to herniated disc in my neck C3 C5 @c6 @c7 I just had C5 threw C7 removed last dec-07 so it a slow healing but feeling a whole lot better then before.I been a bow hunter from 1969 I like the Martin with the M Pro cams easy draw but it will take a few session to get back into the swing.I purchase the bow from a old buddy who runs a pro shop we talk alot about bow tuning from the old day (bare shaft out to 20 yards) the old way in setting the older bows.He spent about 2 1/2 hours with me and when I left the range put 5 arrows at 20 yards around the bull and said it was enough for now.The martin saber shot excellent and starting with 50lbs for the opener I have until Oct:15 n.y.s bow season will start.

If I'm not mistaken the arrows you've mentioned is one of the less quality shafts. With your set up you should be able to get decent arrow flight with them. I know the price seems right, but if you're serious about hunting or getting a good group out to 30 yards or so. For $50 bucks or so the 500's ICS Hunters would be a great arrow to start with. Like they say you get what you pay for!!

Like they say you get what you pay for!! You want to talk? Sounds like you have a neck like mine. I've been there and done that with the neck. Three surgeries in 15 years. Just had fusion and such last July so I can relate to the idea of not wanting to strain yourself. Having been there I might be able to guide you a bit. I also took notice that you've been a bow hunter longer than me. I only started in 1972, but for about a decade I was a very active field and target shooter. That was back in the day when I could see and had a little more muscle. Barry

I tried it you name with the neck and pain ,nerve burn, injections nothing work I think it took almost 8 years to say I am ready and who cares about the outcome I have noting to loose. I shot target for many years started with fingers my class was a B shooter then went to the release and moved up to A class 290 to 300 score.I gave up all target shooting in the early 80's and just use to bow hunt.I have taken a lot of deer with the bow over the years:I now stay away from tree stands and use the camo blind and my sons 4 wheeler.

I should have done it sooner, but just checked your profile and we have a lot in common. We're both 61, You're about 3 months older than me.
My neck problems are very similar to yours. Same problem. Same discs, etc. Biggest difference is that when mine went bad the pain was immediate and severe. Surgery was a must.
Of course along the way I had problems with the lumbar so had thatdone 3 years ago.
Man, I got to tell you. Getting old sucks sometimes.
By the way, are you the same guy on another forum? I think it's huntingnet.com isn't it?

You could easily get away with the 500's # 7.3 gpi. Put a Muzzy 75 grain #207 on the tip and at 25 yards more or less you will get a pass-thru.
