The cards need to get their crap together. they should have been up 21-10 at the half. No excuse Kurt shoulda threw that pass.

That last play was BS. The arm was clearly coming forward. I guess its better to be lucky than be good.

On a side note.
Anyone agree with me that Harrison should have been ejected or at least benched by Tomlin for such blatantly unsportsmanlike conduct?

Agree with you on both counts tbass. Not that it would have changed things but Warner's arm was coming forward and yes Harrison should have been tossed. I'm kinda getting sick of the NFL's rules protecting QB's and even the holder on the field goals. While yes you can't allow guys to cheap shot them anymore you can't even lay a hand on them or they'll throw the flag. Guys rushing the QB can be in mid air when the QB loads to throw and they'll flag them for hitting him when there was no way possible to stop. Their getting ridiculous, turning QB's into little whiny wimps any more. If the QB's are that fragile then maybe they should keep their skirts on the golf course....

"That last play was BS. The arm was clearly coming forward. I guess its better to be lucky than be good. "
It was a fumble and not even all that debatable imho. His arm was coming forward and PUSHED the ball forward. But not before the ball was out of his "control" before it came forward. Not only must the arm be going forward, the ball must be "CONTROLLED" by the hand in the process. He clearly had zero grip on the ball. The call came from upstairs that a review wasnt necessary as theyd seen it plainly enough, and they see it from several angles with several onlookers. The right call was made.
The roughing the passer call was a bit ticky tacky. Not really a "blatant" miscall, but tick tacky none the less. Though, I think you're exaggerating, Jeff, about the "already in the air" statement. For one, he took a couple of steps before the hit and made extra effort at the end with the shove, and two, although it wasnt the case in this instance a defender ISNT ALLOWED to leave his feet or "lauch" himself when hitting the QB. Qb's in the process of throwing are completely unable to defend and in awkward position on every single pass play. Hardly the same thing as someone running with the ball expecting to get hit and seeing it coming.
As for the holder, that was extremely stupid on the cards part. They know the rules and the holder is in a defenseless position and absolutely no reason at all for them to be hit when he doesnt even have the ball. In this case he is also the punter, so injuring the only punter on the team could be significant.
Anyway, Great game, the better team won. Harder schedule the entire season, and a far better record, and clearly a better team than Arizona. All is as should be. Ring number 7 scheduled for 2009.

When I referenced the roughing calls I was speaking in the entire league and season not just yesterday.
And I know the game and rules quite well with a long history as both player & Coach thank you very much. Bottom line is that it's a contact sport. Guy with the ball is fair game. Don't like it,..take up cheerleading.

You are the one not liking the rules and penalties given to protect players. I simply stated why the rules were what they were. I couldnt care less. So according to your statement, maybe you should be fitted for the skirt and pompoms since you are the one whining? I also played highschool and college ball. Didnt feel the need to toot my own horn about it though. Especially since a "long history" has NOTHING to do with knowing current rules, some of which have just been implemented in very recent years. And not only that, but rules vary GREATLY from highschool and college compare to pro- ball. As for being a coach, doesnt mean alot, no offense meant, but just pointing out...Romeo Crennell too was a coach! LOL) Now quit yer whinin'. Maybe the eagles will have better luck next year. ;*)

Not unless they get a new QB and head coach. There's a job for you ...

Mcnabb isnt so bad, hes just expected to do too much, and thats been the case for a long time. Id say the coaching is solely responsible for it. Eagles running game isnt very good most years, even though westbrook is a great checkdown. They also have no "go to" recievers.
Also wouldnt hurt to bring in a legitimate backup qb to pressure Mcnabb a bit.

I agree with the facts about launching, but I think it was Namath or Unitas who said it best when he said, "If I had protection like these babies do now, I'd still be playing". I used the word babies because I can't say what he actually said since this is a family friendly forum. I agree with the running into the holder call to a degree. The holder stood(kneeled) his ground and took the hit for the penalty and the cardinal player was off balance and stumbling. It was the right call but don't make it sound like he ran full steam helmet first into a defenseless man who didn't see it coming. Dallas in '09 ;D
