What are your preferances between the revolvers and auto's for concealed carry and why? Favorite model's and calibers?

I carry a Springfield Armory V-10 Ultra-compact .45acp.It's a little heavy but the weight and the ported barrel really keep it on target

The answer to this question is all in th eye of the beholder. My father loves wheel guns. I for one say to him 13 shots without reloading to your 6...... The true answer is only this. Just carry whats comfortable in your hand and what you like. I know people who could not shoot the ground if not for gravity with semi's, and vise versa. Shoot the handgun before you buy it. There are ranges that let you rent pistols. Or your buddies have it, and can let you shoot it. I do tell people on major thing when it comes to tactical or personal defense weaponry. You can put a price on your life. So don't put one on your equipment!

I own and have shot many more wheel guns and semi's. I find that I am one of the groups who just can't get the hang of shooting a semi accurately. SO if that were my only requirement, i'd carry a wheel gun. BUT, i have developed the habit of the quick two hand hold, which is normal for a semi. This causes a BIG problem for me with a wheel gun as I often get my left hand too far forward in quick fire and get the dang muzzleblast between the cylinder and the barrel. It can hurt!!! For that reason, I opt for a semi and hope the larger capacity will make up for my average accuracy with it. Besides, if I ever have to use it for defense, the person, or other assailant will be close enough I won't have to do much aiming, just "blasting"! ;D ;D I carry a CZ52, (30 cal).

I currently have a Ruger SP101 in .357 (5 shot wheelgun) but am starting to look for a S&W 3913.

I usually carry a derringer. Just bought a Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan in .454 casull. I want to get a pancake holster. Anyone ever get a holster from Simply Rugged? And yes, we do have grizzlies and moose who run amok in Southern Lanc. Co.

I'll respond to myself. Ordered a pancake holster for my new baby(Ruger SRHA) from Simply Rugged in Alaska. Told it might be 10 weeks. Since I'm LH, figured it would be a while. SURPRISE! The holster came about a week later. Even had some nice tooling design on. Conceals the snubbie cannon about as good as I can hope for under my Miami Vice Hawaaian shirts.

It depends on the clothing I am wearing. In warm weather I usually carry a 45 long colt derringer. When I wear a jacket I carry either a Kahr .40 S&W or 1911 .45 ACP.

I think the most important thing in a ccw is safety and confidence you have to be completely comfortable and familar with that weapon to be safe and effective

Being left handed I am limited to the autos I can carry. Right now I carry a Ruger 9mm. With the ways it is designed I can operate all features right or left handed.
I know there are others out there but this one fits my purposes just fine!
